90% merino wool, 10% cashmere: that is the full composition of our cashmere throw blanket. It is a cashmere blend, not a 100% cashmere throw, and we say so openly. The 10% cashmere makes it the softest throw we weave, rated 5 on our own 1–5 scale, while the merino gives it structure and keeps the price at $98.99.

Each throw measures 55 × 79 in (140 × 200 cm) including 4 in (10 cm) fringes and weighs 655 g (1.4 lb), which makes it the lightest throw in our range. The designs are herringbone, stripes and tartan, woven in our family's own mill in Ukraine.

What 10% cashmere adds

Cashmere comes from the fine undercoat of the cashmere goat, and its fibers are even finer than merino. Blended into merino wool, a 10% share changes the hand feel: the surface feels softer and smoother when you run your hand over it or pull the throw around bare shoulders. If other wool feels too rough to you, this merino cashmere throw, with its 10% cashmere, is the one we would suggest.

Cashmere blend or 100% cashmere?

A 100% cashmere throw is softer still, but it costs considerably more, and its short, fine fibers are more delicate: they pill more easily where a throw gets heavy use. Our cashmere-blend throw (10% cashmere) gives you part of that softness with the durability of merino, which suits everyday use on the couch. Warmth and care

For warmth, the blend rates 4 out of 5 on our scale, the same as our merino throws; our pure new wool is warmer but coarser. The care label says do not wash. Air the throw outdoors for a few hours, out of direct sun and rain, and have it dry-cleaned when it needs a proper clean.
